NYSERDA incentives: Green Jobs/Green NY – low costs or no costs audit. 10% incentive up to $1,300 can be paired with a low interest loan (3.49% APR currently up to $11,700). In addition, if your family is income eligible, you may be able to obtain a grant for up to $5,000 to have work performed in your home. The grant must be matched dollar for dollar (i.e. If you take advantage of the $5,000 you must match it with $5,000. This can be in the form of a low interest loan).
Federal tax credits are available as follows: Up to $200 for high efficiency furnace with an ECM motor; $150 for a high efficiency boiler; $300 for an on-demand water heater; $150 for Energy Star windows; $150 for air sealing; $150 for duct sealing; $150 for insulation. The maximum that can be taken is $500. There is a lifetime cap of $500. If you have already taken advantage of the tax credit in 2006, 2007, 2009 or 2010, you may not be eligible for additional tax credits.

National Grid customers may be eligible for additional incentives that can be “paired” with Green Jobs/Green NY incentives. A customer can only take incentives for a single energy efficiency measure from one source (i.e. no double dipping). As an example, you may decide you’d like to have additional insulation installed in your attic, your home air sealed, your duct work sealed, your heating system and your water heater replaced.
